Best UK Vet

We had such a wonderful day at Blacks Hospital in Dudley yesterday. We were such lucky pups to experience the Best UK Vet 2016 celebration. The Mayor said we were “the pride of the Black Country”, and for once, we knew the compliment was not for us, but for the WHOLE AMAZING TEAM at Blacks Vets. Susie Samuel the big boss at Vet Help Direct talked about the “unprecedented achievement” of ALL FIVE Blacks branches being in the top 8 nationally… out of 3,500 vets! WOW! The Dudley Hospital has won the gold award two years in a row – the first vets ever to do that.

Dad, Brian Hogan, talked about it being a real team effort. Everyone from vets and nurses, but also including the insurance team, office based colleagues, and cleaning and maintenance, pulling together to genuinely put pets first. Blacks clients are very special too… so many of them took the time to write their reviews on Vet Help Direct and we know the team are so grateful. Dad did a great job of ad-libbing his speech, after Freda stole it and ran out of the cat flap with it!

We were not the only VIPs in town. We met the Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley, and they were lovely. That bling is surprisingly comfy to cuddle up next to! We also met vets and nurses from our Lye, Sedgley, Oldbury and Quinton teams, and Mr and Mrs Black who started it all. Our heroes to look up to though (literally and figuratively) have got to be the Grice family, whose 3 Irish Wolfhounds, are Blacks Vets walking blood bank!

We behaved impeccably throughout the event, meeting and cuddling so many new people, and even occasionally treating them to a head-on-one-side for the camera! We did not so much as sniff the beautiful cake, nibbles or fizz; but made sure we were amply rewarded when we went to our VIP suite in the luxury dog ward afterwards!
What a wonderful day. Next on our list, after learning to walk on a lead without jumping on our sibling, is to learn to type! Then we can leave our review on Vet Help Direct too!
