Lye Surgery

Branch overview

The Lye surgery first opened in 1985 in High Street and was run by practice partner Simon Gubbins. Having outgrown these premises the surgery moved to Pedmore Road, just on the Pedmore side of Lye Cross, in 2006. The building has undergone a complete renovation to convert it into a first class veterinary surgery. It has been passed by the RCVS as "Tier 3" - the highest standard for veterinary surgeries. There is good parking and excellent facilities throughout the surgery. The X ray unit is among the best in any veterinary practice in the country.

The veterinary team is headed by Ruth Wickens whose medical knowledge is matched only by her love of animals. Ruth is in the final stage of completing her Certificate in Medicine, which is the highest qualification a vet can achieve whilst working in general practice.

Head Nurse is Liz Jefferson, who keeps everyone on their toes and makes sure that clients and their pets get the very best attention at all times. She enjoys running puppy parties and is brilliant at the Weight Clinics - so if your pet has put on a few pounds and is looking a bit too comfortable you will get a sympathetic and encouraging reception from Liz and she gets great results!

Our client care manager, Sue Bryan, will ensure you always receive a warm welcome. All our team are happy to give help and advice over the phone, so if you have any veterinary worries, however small, share them with us and we're sure we will be able to put your mind at rest.
